CTN to Celebrate 15th Anniversary on July 24, Continuing Its Legacy of Social Contribution
The 15th anniversary celebration of CTN, one of South Korea's leading internet newspapers, will be held on Friday, July 24, at 2:00 PM at the Taean Culture and Arts Center Art Hall (2nd floor). True to its core values, this year's event will once again be held as a meaningful social contribution initiative.
As part of the anniversary event, CTN plans to invite the winners of the "17th 2-Chung 1-Hyo National Essay Contest"—an event CTN has continuously sponsored for the past 15 years—to the award stage to instill a sense of pride and achievement in them.
In particular, the scholarships and local agricultural specialties awarded as prizes for the Student Division Grand Prize, as well as the winners, runners-up, and honorable mentions in both the student and adult divisions, are fully funded by CTN. Only the publication of the award-winning collection, which is distributed for free to winners, is supported by subsidies from Taean-gun.
The ceremony will also feature key appointments and awards for CTN personnel. Director Lee Byeong-jong of the Chungbuk Bureau will receive the Outstanding Journalist Award. In addition, Professor Lee Kyu-ho of Uwon University and Shin Dong-ho, former head of the Chungbuk Bureau, will be appointed as editorial writers, while Gam Jeong-eun, Director of the Chungnam Bureau for CTNs sister publication, Chungnam Education News, will also receive her official appointment letter at the venue.
"Since July is a busy period with many newly inaugurated local government heads, we have minimized external invitations. Instead, we have focused on a program that brings the greatest joy to the awardees," said CEO Ka Keum-hyun. "We hope as many winners as possible attend the event to enjoy the spotlight and receive hearty applause on stage."
CEO Ka also extended an invitation to educators and parents, stating, "Watching children receive an award on stage is a profound experience and a cherished lifelong memory. We sincerely hope teachers and parents can make time to join us."
Currently serving as the Chungnam Chapter of the National Internet Newspaper Association, CTN vows to continue its growth alongside extensive social contribution activities. In the second half of this year, CTN is planning various impactful projects, including cultural heritage tours for youth, a youth soccer tournament, a traditional Korean archery contest, and cultural exchange programs alongside a Korean language propagation campaign in educationally underprivileged areas of Cambodia and Laos.
