[서울/CTN]가금현 기자 = 서울특별시 서북병원이 직원의 건강 증진을 통해 환자 안전과 의료 서비스의 질을 동시에 끌어올리는 선순환 구조 구축에 나섰다.

서북병원은 최근 의료 현장 최일선에서 근무하는 직원들의 신체적·정신적 피로를 해소하고, 안전한 근무 환경을 조성하기 위한 전사적인 '직원 건강관리 강화 프로그램'을 본격 가동한다고 밝혔다.

이번 프로그램은 의료진과 행정 직원들의 직무 스트레스를 완화하고 대면 업무에서 발생할 수 있는 건강 위해 요소를 사전에 차단하기 위해 마련됐다.

주요 내용으로는 ▲맞춤형 스트레스 완화 심리 상담 ▲근골격계 질환 예방을 위한 운동 치료 프로그램 ▲야간 근무자 특화 건강검진 지원 등이 포함된다.

병원 측은 직원이 건강하고 행복해야 환자에게도 고품질의 안전한 의료 서비스를 제공할 수 있다는 판단 아래, 근로 환경 개선이 곧 환자 안전사고 예방으로 직결된다는 점을 강조했다.

실제로 직원의 직무 만족도와 건강 상태가 호전될수록 병원 내 감염 관리 및 투약 오류 등 안전사고 발생률이 유의미하게 감소한다는 연구 결과에 주목한 조치다.

서북병원 관계자는 "직원들의 건강은 환자의 생명 및 안전과 직결되는 가장 중요한 기본 요소"라며 "앞으로도 모든 직원이 건강하게 몰입할 수 있는 안전한 일터를 조성하여, 시민들이 더욱 신뢰하고 찾을 수 있는 서북병원을 만들어 가겠다"고 전했다.
