[인천/CTN]주대호 기자= 박찬대 인천광역시장이 22일 "예산 제약으로 인해 공간 조성에 어려움이 있었지만, 민간기업과의 협력을 통해 아이들이 마음껏 뛰어놀 수 있는 수준 높은 실내 놀이터를 조성할 수 있게 되어 기쁘다"라며 "'mom편한 놀이터' 사업 선정은 '어린이가 행복한 도시, 인천'을 구체화하기 위한 인천시의 진심이 만들어 낸 첫 번째 소중한 결실"이라고 밝혔다. 인천시는 영유아 놀이 환경 개선을 위해 ㈜롯데그룹과 초록우산이 공동 추진하는 '2026년 mom편한 놀이터' 공모사업에 최종 선정됐다고 발표했다.

인천시는 부평구에 건립 중인 아이사랑드림센터 내 실내 놀이터 조성을 추진했으나 국비 확보 등 예산난을 겪자 민간 공모사업으로 눈을 돌려 이번 성과를 끌어냈다. 사업은 롯데그룹의 재원 지원과 초록우산의 사업 수행을 거쳐 완공 후 인천시가 소유권을 이전받아 운영하는 3자 협력 방식으로 진행된다. 총 1,347㎡ 규모의 공간 중 471.3㎡에 들어서며, 올 하반기 착공해 오는 12월 완공을 목표로 하고 있다.

이번 성과는 재정적 한계에 봉착한 지방자치단체가 민간 기업과의 협력을 통해 주민 복지 인프라를 확충한 우수한 행정 사례로 평가받는다.

다만 민간 자본에 의존한 시설 조성이 일회성 생색내기 사업으로 흐르지 않으려면 향후 운영과 유지보수에 대한 철저한 대비가 요구된다. 완공 이후 발생하는 시설 관리비와 노후화 교체 비용 등 지속적인 운영 재정을 지자체가 안정적으로 확보하고, 민간과의 단기 협력을 넘어 장기적인 아동 복지 협력 네트워크로 발전시키는 대안 마련이 병행되어야 할 것으로 보인다.
