[대구/CTN]이수현 기자= 추경호 대구광역시장이 23일 지역 국가기관장들과의 간담회 자리에서 "대구가 직면한 가장 큰 과제는 민생경제 회복과 미래 성장동력 확보이다"라며 "대구경제에 활력을 불어넣기 위해서는 대구시의 노력만으로는 한계가 있는 만큼 지역 국가기관과의 긴밀한 협력이 무엇보다 중요하다"라고 밝혔다. 대구시는 민선 9기 출범 이후 처음으로 지역 내 8개 주요 국가기관장들을 초청해 민생경제 회복과 지역경제 활성화를 위한 조찬 간담회를 개최했다고 발표했다.

이날 간담회에는 대구지방국세청, 대구경북지방중소벤처기업청, 대구지방고용노동청, 대구지방식품의약품안전청, 대구지방환경청, 대구본부세관, 대구지방조달청, 국립대구박물관 등 8개 기관의 수장이 대거 참석했다. 양측은 대구 경제의 전반적인 상황을 공유하고, 소상공인 지원과 골목상권 활성화, 중소 및 수출입 기업 지원, 지역 생산 물품의 공공 판로 확대 등 기업하기 좋은 환경 조성을 위한 협력 방안을 논의했다.

특히 대구시키는 각 기관에 7건의 구체적인 현안 협조를 요청했다. 국세청에는 경영난을 겪는 홈플러스 입점 업체의 부가가치세 납부 기한 연장을, 조달청에는 혁신제품 지정 확대와 지역 물품 우선 구매를 건의했다. 고용노동청에는 최저임금법 준수 점검을, 환경청에는 서남신시장 하수도 정비와 국가산단 내 반도체·AI 산업용 폐수처리 기반 조성을 요청했다. 아울러 대구박물관에는 달성토성 발굴 성과 관련 공동 연구를 제안했으며, 참석 기관장들은 이를 적극 검토하겠다는 뜻을 모았다.

이처럼 지자체가 지역에 거점을 둔 중앙정부 기관들을 한자리에 모아 민생 현안을 직접 건의하고 소통 채널을 가동하는 것은 대외적 공조 명분을 세우기 좋은 행보로 평가된다.

다만 상견례 성격의 일회성 조찬 모임에서 쏟아낸 각종 건의 사항이 실제 기관별 행정 집행으로 이어질지는 미지수라는 지적이 나온다. 단판성 조찬 간담회가 보여주기식 정치 행사에 그치지 않으려면, 제시된 7개 건의 과제의 이행 여부를 실시간으로 관리하는 민관합동 실무 협의체 구성과 정기적인 성과 점검 등 실질적인 후속 대안이 마련되어야 할 것으로 보인다.

Agency heads agreed to actively review these requests.

While gathering central government agencies located in the region to convey pending local issues provides a plausible narrative of public collaboration, skepticism remains.

Critics point out that it is questionable whether requests aired during a one-off ceremonial breakfast will translate into actual policy execution by central agencies. To prevent this meeting from ending as a mere photo opportunity, Daegu City must establish concrete policy alternatives, such as working-level follow-up committees to track the execution status of the requested items.
