[경기/CTN]김지우 기자= 구리시 관계자가 행사 경과를 설명하며 "무더위에 지친 시민들이 물놀이장에서 잠시나마 웃고 즐기며 휴식할 수 있는 시간이 됐기를 바란다"라며 "남은 운영 기간에도 철저한 위생·안전 관리를 통해 시민들이 안심하고 시원하게 여름을 보낼 수 있도록 물놀이장 운영에 최선을 다하겠다"라고 밝혔다. 경기도 구리시(시장 신동화)는 갈매중앙공원, 아름마을공원, 동구하늘공원, 토평공원에서 진행한 '찾아가는 물놀이장 문화 공연'을 성황리에 마쳤다고 발표했다.

구리시에 따르면 이번 행사는 도심 야외 물놀이장을 방문한 시민과 어린이들에게 다채로운 볼거리를 제공하기 위해 8월 1일과 8일 이틀간 기획됐다.

공연 현장에서는 가수 시호, 베일, 슬랙스, 박지우가 출연해 무대를 선보였으며 권보영 마술사의 비눗방울 마술 공연이 이어졌다. 시는 현재 갈매중앙공원, 아름마을공원, 동구하늘공원, 토평공원, 왕숙천둔치공원, 구리한강시민공원 등 총 6곳의 공원 물놀이장을 조성해 오는 8월 30일까지 운영을 이어갈 계획이라고 덧붙였다.

이처럼 폭염 속 멀리 피서를 떠나지 못하는 지역 주민들을 위해 가까운 도심 공원 물놀이장에서 음악과 마술 같은 야외 공연을 연계해 볼거리를 더한 것은 시민들의 소소한 문화 휴식을 돕는다는 측면에서 긍정적인 시도로 볼 수 있다.

다만 며칠 동안 가수를 부르고 비눗방울 마술을 선보인 단발성 이벤트를 치적으로 포장하며 생색을 내는 것은 전형적인 전시성 행정이라는 비판을 피하기 어렵다. 보여주기식 공연 행사에 치중할 것이 아니라, 많은 인파가 몰리는 여름철 물놀이장의 수질 오염을 막기 위한 실시간 전염병 검사와 바닥 미끄럼 사고 방지 요원 배치 등 시민들이 현장에서 즉각 느낄 수 있는 위생 및 안전 대책이 우선되어야 할 것으로 보인다.

Rather than spending resources on temporary stage events, the city needs practical measures, such as real-time water quality testing and dedicated safety personnel to prevent slips and infections at crowded facilities.
