[대구/CTN]이수현 기자= 추경호 대구시장이 조직 개편 후 첫 간부회의에서 업무 속도를 강조하며 "검토하겠다, 추가로 살펴보겠다는 말만 반복해서는 안 된다"라며 "모든 일을 조금 더 빨리 검토하고 반응해 결론을 내는 방식으로 속도를 높이고, 시장은 임기가 있지만 시정은 계속되는 만큼 여러분이 대구시정의 주인이라는 책임감을 갖고 적극적으로 매진해 달라"라고 밝혔다. 대구광역시(시장 추경호)는 8월 10일 산격청사 대회의실에서 간부회의를 주재하고 시정 변화 속도 향상과 국비·추경 대응을 논의했다고 발표했다.

대구시에 따르면 이번 회의는 인사 마무리 이후 시정 성과 창출과 균형 있는 도시환경 개선을 주문하기 위해 마련됐다.

추 시장은 행정 생산성을 높이기 위해 AI를 시정에 적극 활용할 것을 지시했다. 또한 신천변 정비를 비롯해 금호강·낙동강·팔공산 등 자연 자원을 시민 편의 공간으로 재조성하고, 하수·오수 문제 등 생활 밀착형 환경 개선에 재원을 투입하라고 주문했다. 아울러 정부 예산안 국회 심의에 대비해 지역 국회의원과의 협력을 강화하고 소상공인·청년 지원 중심의 추경 편성을 당부했다고 덧붙였다.

이처럼 지자체장이 직접 간부회의를 주재하여 답답한 행정 절차의 쇄신을 촉구하고, AI 기술 도입과 수변 환경 개선 등 시민 삶과 직결된 과제들을 챙기는 것은 행정 효율성을 높이기 위해 필요한 시도로 볼 수 있다.

다만 구체적인 실행 예산이나 세부 로드맵 제시 없이 간부들을 모아놓고 속도전과 책임감을 일방적으로 독촉하는 것은 실적 압박용 훈시 행정에 그친다는 비판을 피하기 어렵다. AI 행정 도입을 위한 구체적인 가이드라인 마련은 물론, 신천과 금호강의 오수 유입을 막을 실질적인 하수관로 정비 예산을 우선 투입하고 국비 확보를 위한 구체적인 공조 전략을 세우는 등 현장 중심의 실질적인 지원책이 우선되어야 할 것으로 보인다.

Critics argue that demanding rapid results and shifting responsibility onto civil servants without presenting clear budgetary allocations borders on bureaucratic pressure. Rather than relying on top-down verbal demands, the city needs practical measures, such as establishing precise AI implementation guidelines, securing direct funding for sewage pipe modernization, and formulating concrete legislative strategies for national budget allocation.
