Busan Philharmonic Orchestra presents a musical journey to Spain with World Classical Music Tour II
Busan Cultural Center will present the Busan Philharmonic Orchestras special concert series World Classical Music Tour II – Spain Edition on May 13, offering audiences a passionate and romantic musical journey through Spain.
The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. on May 13 at the medium theater of Busan Cultural Center.
The World Classical Music Tour series, designed to make classical music more accessible and enjoyable, has received enthusiastic responses since its debut last year. Featuring music from around the world accompanied by engaging commentary from the conductor, the series has become popular among both classical enthusiasts and first-time concertgoers.
This performance will focus on Spain, featuring works by Rossini, Rodrigo, and Falla. Through powerful rhythms, exotic melodies, and colorful musical textures unique to Spain, audiences will experience the feeling of traveling through the country with music.
The concert will be conducted and narrated by Baek Seung-hyun, associate conductor of the Busan Philharmonic Orchestra. Baek will provide accessible and engaging explanations about the composers, the historical background of the works, and the cultural characteristics embedded in the music.
Guitarist Kim Jin-se will appear as the featured soloist, performing Concierto de Aranjuez, one of the most celebrated masterpieces of Spanish guitar music. The rich harmony between guitar and orchestra is expected to vividly convey the romance and lyricism of Spanish music.
The program opens with The Barber of Seville Overture, followed by Rodrigos Concierto de Aranjuez and Suite No. 1 from Fallas ballet The Three-Cornered Hat. Each work highlights the passion and vibrant energy distinctive to Spanish music.
Busan Cultural Center officials said the concert is designed as an easy-to-enjoy evening performance where audiences can briefly step away from their busy daily lives and relax through classical music.
Tickets are priced at 10,000 won and reservations are available through the Busan Cultural Center website.
