전국백일장을 추진하고 있는 가금현 한국청소년보호연맹 충남연맹장은 "화력발전 산업이 직면한 여러 어려움 속에서도 전국의 청소년 및 일반인 문학도들을 위해 폭넓은 문학의 장을 마련해준 한국서부발전에 깊은 감사를 드린다"고 밝혔다.
가 연맹장은 이어 "비록 지난해보다 후원 규모가 약 반정도 감면되었으나, 행사를 진행하는 데 있어 매우 큰 힘이 된다"며 "다만 17년간 개인과 기업의 헌신적인 협조로 운영되어 온 2충1효 전국백일장이 이제는 지속가능성을 위해 충남도와 충남교육청 등 공공기관 차원의 실질적인 지원 체계로 전환되는 것이 바람직하다"고 강조했다.
한국서부발전 관계자는 "더 많은 지원을 아끼지 말아야 하나, 최근의 경제적 여건 등으로 인해 예전만큼 후원하지 못해 오히려 미안한 마음"이라며 지역 문화 예술 발전에 대한 지속적인 관심을 약속했다.
한편, '2충1효 전국백일장'은 전국 초·중·고 학생과 일반인을 대상으로 진행되는 국내 최고 권위의 공모전 중 하나다.
상위 입상자에게는 충청남도교육감상, 충청남도지사상 등이 수여되며, 입상자 전원의 작품을 수록한 수상집을 매년 발행·배부하며 올해로 17회째 그 명맥을 이어오고 있다.

This sponsorship is facilitated through the Chungnam Cultural Tourism Foundation. For several years, Korea Western Power has consistently supported this competition, serving as a reliable pillar for youth nationwide to grow healthily through literature.
Ga Geum-hyun, President of the Chungnam Federation of the Korea Youth Protection Federation, which organizes the event, stated:
"I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Korea Western Power for providing a broad literary platform for students and the general public across the country, even amidst the various challenges facing the thermal power industry."
President Ga further noted, "Although the sponsorship scale has been reduced by approximately 45% compared to last year, it remains a source of great strength for the event. However, for the long-term sustainability of this contest—which has been operated for 17 years through the dedicated cooperation of individuals and corporations—it is now desirable to transition toward a practical support system at the public level, involving the Chungnam Provincial Government and the Chungnam Office of Education."
An official from Korea Western Power responded, "We feel apologetic that we could not provide as much support as in the past due to recent economic conditions, although we should not spare any effort. We promise to maintain our continuous interest in the development of local culture and arts."
The "2 Loyalty & 1 Filial Piety National Creative Writing Contest" is one of South Korea's most prestigious competitions open to elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as the general public.
Top winners are honored with awards from the Superintendent of the Chungnam Office of Education and the Governor of Chungnam Province. The contest has maintained its prestige for 17 years, publishing and distributing an annual collection of works featuring all winning entries.
