[정치/CTN]가금현 기자= 오성환 당진시장 후보가 본투표를 앞둔 마지막 주말, 당진 전역을 누비며 막판 표심을 잡기 위한 총력전에 나섰다.

선거운동이 막바지에 접어들면서 오 후보는 전통시장, 주요 상가, 주거 밀집지역 등 유동 인구가 많은 생활권을 잇달아 방문했다.

그는 현장에서 시민들의 목소리를 경청하는 한편, 지난 4년간의 시정 성과와 당진의 미래 비전을 설명하는 데 집중했다.

오 후보는 유세에서 “4년 전 시민들께 발로 뛰는 시장이 되겠다고 약속했고, 그 약속을 지키기 위해 누구보다 현장에서 함께 호흡했다”며 “이번 선거는 지난 4년에 대한 평가이자 당진의 미래를 결정짓는 중대한 선택”이라고 강조했다.

이어 “당진은 50년 만에 인구 17만 명을 달성한 것은 물론, 대규모 투자 유치, 전국 상위권 고용률 기록, 교육·의료 기반 확충 등 가시적인 성과를 일궈냈다”며 “시민과 함께 만든 변화의 흐름이 멈추지 않고 더 큰 성장으로 이어질 수 있도록 다시 한 번 압도적인 지지를 보내달라”고 호소했다.

이날 오 후보는 시민들과 만난 자리에서 당진의 미래 청사진을 구체적으로 제시했다. 주요 공약으로는 ▲종합병원 건립 ▲자율형사립고(자사고) 유치 추진 ▲제2서해대교 건설 ▲합덕역세권 개발 ▲당진항 육성 ▲미래산업 기반 확충 등을 내걸었다.

그는 “도시의 경쟁력은 결국 시민의 삶의 질에서 나온다”며 “아이들이 꿈을 키우고, 청년들이 양질의 일자리를 찾으며, 어르신들이 편안한 여생을 보낼 수 있는 ‘살기 좋은 도시’, 외지인들이 찾아오고 싶은 도시를 만들겠다”고 약속했다.

또한 오 후보는 “정치는 약속을 만드는 것이 아니라 지켜내는 과정”이라며 “지난 임기 동안 말보다 실행으로, 계획보다 결과로 증명하기 위해 뛰어왔다”고 차별성을 부각했다.

그러면서 “당진의 변화는 이제 시작이다. 교육·의료·산업·교통이 어우러진 ‘30만 자족도시’의 꿈을 반드시 현실로 만들어내겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

오 후보 선거캠프 관계자는 “선거일까지 모든 역량을 집중해 시민들을 만날 것”이라며 “마지막 순간까지 겸손한 자세로 시민들의 목소리를 듣고 진심을 전하는 선거운동을 이어가겠다”고 전했다.

한편, 오성환 후보는 본투표 당일까지 당진 전 지역을 도는 집중 유세와 밀착형 시민 접촉을 통해 지지세를 확고히 굳힌다는 계획이다.

During his meetings with citizens, Oh presented a detailed blueprint for the future of Dangjin. His key pledges include: ▲Establishing a general hospital, ▲Promoting the establishment of an autonomous private high school, ▲Constructing the Second Seohae Grand Bridge, ▲Developing the Hapdeok Station area, ▲Fostering Dangjin Port, and ▲Expanding the foundation for future industries.
In particular, he emphasized, "A city's competitiveness ultimately stems from the quality of life of its citizens. My goal is to create a city where children can grow their dreams, young people can find quality jobs, and the elderly can live comfortably—a city that people from other regions genuinely want to visit."
He also added, "Politics is not about making promises, but about the process of keeping them. Over the past four years, I have run to be evaluated by actions over words, and by results over plans." He vowed, "Dangjin's transformation is not over yet. On the foundation of growth built with our citizens, I will turn the dream of a 300,000 self-sustaining city—where education, medical care, industry, tourism, transportation, and living environments harmonize—into a reality."
An official from Oh's campaign camp stated, "We are focusing all our capabilities on meeting citizens until election day. We plan to continue our campaign with a humble attitude until the very last moment, listening to the voices of the citizens and delivering our sincerity."
Meanwhile, Candidate Oh plans to expand his touchpoints with voters and appeal for support until the final moment by continuing intensive rallies and close contact with citizens across all areas of Dangjin until the main voting begins.
