[정치/CTN]강현수 기자 = 박찬우 국민의힘 천안시장 후보가 어르신들의 대표적 체육 생활로 자리 잡은 파크골프의 인프라를 획기적으로 확충하겠다는 대규모 공약을 발표하며 ‘스포츠 복지 도시’ 천안을 향한 강한 의지를 피력했다.

박 후보는 최근 성정동 선거사무소에서 천안시파크골프협회 정석희 회장을 비롯한 회원들과 실무 간담회를 가졌다. 이번 간담회는 동호인들이 현장에서 겪는 애로사항과 합리적인 대안을 가감 없이 내놓고, 박 후보가 이에 대한 구체적인 추진 로드맵을 제시하는 실무형 소통 방식으로 진행되어 참석자들의 큰 호응을 얻었다.

이날 간담회에서는 관내 파크골프 시설의 고질적인 대기 정체 문제가 집중 도출됐다. 협회 측은 풍세 구장 등의 정체 해소를 위해 유관순 파크골프장 등의 개장 시간을 노인 일자리 사업과 연계해 앞당겨 달라고 제안했다. 이에 박 후보는 “시설의 이용 효율성을 극대화하는 동시에 어르신 일자리까지 창출할 수 있는 일석이조의 명안”이라며 시정에 적극 반영할 것을 약속했다.

특히 지역 내 최대 쟁점 중 하나였던 도솔공원 활용 방안에 대해서도 극적인 합의점이 도출됐다. 협회 측이 “공원 중앙 부지는 일반 시민들에게 돌려주되, 공원 외곽 주변 부지를 활용해 파크골프 공간을 조성해 달라”는 상생안을 제시하자, 박 후보는 “협회와 관계기관 등과 긴밀히 협의해 이 대안을 적극 수용하고 반영하겠다”고 화답했다.

이어 박 후보는 권역별 파크골프장 신설을 위한 선제적 핵심 공약을 확약했다. 구체적으로는 ▲독립기념관 서곡 지구 유휴 부지 내 대규모 72홀 구장 조성 ▲백석대학교 인근 부지(약 2만 평) 내 36홀 구장 조성을 꼽았다. 박 후보는 “이는 천안시민을 위해 가장 먼저 구상했던 선제적 공약으로, 충남도지사 공약과도 연계해 공동 추진할 것이며 관련 법률을 신속히 검토해 실행에 옮기겠다”고 강조했다. 이외에도 곡교천 하천부지 내 구장 신설 적극 검토, 입장면 지역 파크골프장 조성, 신규 구장 내 쾌적한 전용 사무실 건립 병행 등 촘촘한 지원책을 함께 내놓았다.

박찬우 후보는 “파크골프는 단순한 스포츠를 넘어 어르신들의 건강하고 활기찬 노후를 지탱하는 최고의 복지 인프라”라며 “시장에 당선되면 말뿐이 아닌 신속한 법률 검토와 유연하고 책임 있는 행정을 통해 천안시의 파크골프 환경을 획기적으로 개선하겠다”고 밝혔다.

이번 간담회는 갈등 요소였던 공원 활용 문제를 민관의 지혜로 풀어내고, 권역별 대규모 인프라 구축이라는 실질적인 해법을 제시했다는 점에서 돋보인다. 고령화 시대에 발맞춰 어르신들의 건강권 확보와 여가 문화 고도화를 이끌어내려는 박 후보의 ‘발로 뛰는’ 현장 행보가 지역 표심을 결집하는 기폭제가 될 수 있을지 주목된다.

Candidate Park recently held a practical meeting with officials and members of the Cheonan Park Golf Association, including Chairman Jeong Seok-hee, at his campaign office. During the meeting, the chronic waiting congestion at park golf facilities in the city was intensively addressed. Particularly, a dramatic consensus was reached on the utilization of Dosol Park, which had been one of the biggest controversial issues in the region. When the association proposed a win-win plan stating, "Please return the central site of Dosol Park to general citizens, but utilize the outer perimeter of the park to create a park golf space," Candidate Park responded, "I will closely consult with the association and related organizations to actively accept and reflect this alternative."

Subsequently, Park confirmed his preemptive core pledges for establishing regional park golf courses. Specifically, he highlighted ▲the creation of a large-scale 72-hole course within the idle land of the Seogok District at the Independence Hall of Korea and ▲the creation of a 36-hole course on a site near Baekseok University (approximately 20,000 pyeong). Park emphasized, "This is a preemptive pledge that I first envisioned for Cheonan citizens. I will promote it jointly in connection with the Chungnam Governor's pledges and put it into action by swiftly reviewing relevant laws." In addition, he presented meticulous support measures, including actively reviewing the creation of a course within the riverbed of Gokgyo-cheon, establishing a park golf course in Ipjang-myeon, and building clean, dedicated offices within the new courses.

Candidate Park Chan-woo stated, "Park golf goes beyond a simple sport to become the best welfare infrastructure sustaining a healthy and vibrant old age for seniors." He added, "Upon being elected mayor, I will breakthroughs the park golf environment in Cheonan through swift legal reviews and flexible, responsible administration, not just words."

This meeting stands out in that it solved the park utilization conflict through the shared wisdom of the public and private sectors, presenting practical solutions like building large-scale regional infrastructure.
