충남 민주진보교육감 추진위원회 선정 후보인 이병도 충청남도교육감 후보는 지난 18일 사단법인 기본사회와 기본사회 실현을 위한 정책협약을 전격 체결했다. 양측은 이번 협약을 통해 최소한의 생계 보장을 넘어 기본적인 삶이 모두에게 보편적이고 존엄하며 공정하게 보장되는 사회를 실현하겠다는 의지를 공식화했다. 특히 부모의 경제력이나 지역적 여건에 구애받지 않는 출발점에서의 평등을 담보하는 교육 환경 조성을 위해 긴밀한 협력 체계를 가동하기로 약속했다.

이번 협약에 따라 양 단체는 교육, 돌봄, 급식, 복지 등 학생 중심의 기본교육 정책을 발굴해 제안하고 교육격차 해소와 지속 가능한 교육 환경 조성을 공조한다. 또한 교육기본소득 실현을 선도하고 지역사회와 연계한 촘촘한 교육복지 안전망 외연 확장을 위한 공동 활동에 전방위로 나설 계획이다. 이는 공교육의 공공성을 획기적으로 강화해 낙인 효과 없는 공평한 교육 기회를 균등하게 배분하겠다는 선제적 포석이다.
