시는 오는 5월 21일부터 6월 22일까지 관내 10개 읍·면 지역을 대상으로 ‘2분기 찾아가는 읍·면 순회 이동건강검진’을 전격 실시한다고 20일 밝혔다. 이번 이동검진은 공공 의료 혜택에서 소외되기 쉬운 외곽 지역 주민들에게 정기적인 검진 기회를 제공함으로써 만성질환을 조기에 발견하고 예방 중심의 도심형 보건 안전망을 구축하기 위해 분기별로 추진되는 핵심 상생 시책이다.

검진 항목은 국민건강보험공단이 주관하는 일반건강검진을 비롯해 위암·대장암·유방암·자궁경부암 등 국가암검진, 그리고 고혈압·당뇨 등 성인병질환 검사로 구성됐다. 특히 인구 고령화가 심화된 읍·면 지역의 특성을 고려해 60세 이상 취약계층 주민들을 대상으로는 혈액검사 43종이 대거 포함된 ‘성인병 정밀검진’을 병행하여 공공 보건 행정의 깊이를 더했다.
