[천안/CTN]강현수 기자 = 천안시청소년재단 천안시청소년복합커뮤니티센터가 스마트폰과 입시 위주의 교실 마루를 벗어나 청소년들이 자연 속에서 스스로 도전하고 협동심을 기를 수 있는 실전형 호연지기 프로그램을 전격 가동했다.

재단은 지난 20일 천안서여자중학교 1학년 학생들을 대상으로 자연 생태계의 소중함을 온몸으로 깨닫고 강인한 도전정신을 기르는 학교형 청소년 자기도전 포상제 동장 탐험활동을 성황리에 운영했다고 밝혔다. 이번 탐험활동은 미래의 주역인 청소년들이 교실 밖 야외 환경에서 자연의 가치를 직접 관찰하고, 또래 친구들과의 긴밀한 소통을 통해 무너져가는 공동체 의식을 확고히 정립하도록 돕기 위해 선제적으로 마련됐다.

이날 탐험에 나선 서여중 학생들은 푸른 숲길을 따라 줄지어 이동하며 도심 속에서 쉽게 접할 수 없었던 다양한 야생 자연환경을 미시적으로 관찰했다. 특히 단순한 도보 행진에 그치지 않고 정교하게 설계된 생태 탐방 과정을 거치며 조별 환경 미션지를 직접 작성하는 과제를 수행했다. 학생들은 친구들과 함께 머리를 맞대고 자연의 소중함을 기록하고 활동 과정의 느낀 점을 실시간으로 공유하며, 급변하는 사회에서 반드시 요구되는 상생과 협력의 가치를 몸소 체화했다.

윤여숭 천안시청소년복합커뮤니티센터 관장은 "우리 청소년들이 광활한 자연 속 활동을 통해 스스로의 한계에 과감히 도전하고 친구들과 유기적으로 협력하는 값진 경험의 자산을 쌓았다"라며 "천안시청소년복합커뮤니티센터는 앞으로도 일선 학교 현장과 긴밀하게 연계된 다각적인 맞춤형 청소년 성장 지원 프로그램을 지속해서 확대 운영해 나가겠다"고 강력한 의지를 피력했다.

지나친 경쟁 사회 속에서 아동·청소년기의 자발적인 도전과 공동체적 유대는 인성 교육의 가장 핵심적인 보루다. 도심 도서관과 공교육의 경계를 허물고 청소년들이 땀 흘리며 소통할 수 있는 현장형 포상제 시스템을 전개한 청소년재단의 이번 행보는, 박제된 이론 교육의 한계를 깨부수고 건강한 다문화·글로벌 인재를 양성하는 선진형 청소년 정책의 수려한 이정표가 될 것이 확실하다.

[Cheonan/CTN] Reporter Kang Hyun-su = The Cheonan Youth Complex Community Center under the Cheonan Youth Foundation has formally launched a practical spirit-building program for youth to challenge themselves in nature and foster teamwork, stepping out of smartphone and exam-oriented classrooms.

The foundation announced that it successfully operated the school-type Youth Self-Challenge Award System 'Bronze Award Exploration Activity' on the past 20th for first-grade students of Cheonan Seo Girls' Middle School to realize the preciousness of the natural ecology and cultivate a strong spirit of challenge. This exploration activity was proactively designed to help youth—the leaders of the future—personally observe the values of nature in outdoor environments outside the classroom and firmly establish a sense of community through close communication with peers.

Seo Girls' Middle School students who went on the exploration on this day moved along green forest trails, microscopically observing various wild natural environments that were not easily accessible in downtown areas. Notably, rather than a simple walking march, they performed a task of directly filling out environmental mission sheets through an elaborately designed eco-exploration course. Students put their heads together with friends to record the preciousness of nature and shared their impressions of the activity process in real-time, embodying the values of coexistence and cooperation strictly demanded in a rapidly changing society.

Yoon Yeo-sung, Director of the Cheonan Youth Complex Community Center, expressed strong determination, stating, "Our youth have accumulated valuable assets of experience by boldly challenging their limits through activities in vast nature and organically cooperating with friends." He added, "The Cheonan Youth Complex Community Center will continuously expand and operate multi-faceted, customized youth growth support programs closely linked with frontline school fields."
