박 후보는 지난 20일 천안시 사회복지기관연합회와 민생 간담회를 전격 개최하고, 천안 지역의 시급한 사회복지 현안 해결과 복지 서비스 고도화를 위한 실천적 정책 공약 수립에 나섰다고 밝혔다. 이번 간담회는 선거철 형식적인 소통에서 탈피해 천안시 복지 현장의 생생한 육성을 직접 청취하고, 영세한 시설들의 애로사항을 꼼꼼히 수집해 70만 시민 모두가 체감할 수 있는 실효성 있는 맞춤형 복지 마스터플랜을 구축하고자 마련됐다.

이 자리에서 사회복지기관연합회 측은 복지 현장의 인력 부족과 열악한 환경을 가감 없이 토로하며 취약계층의 생존권 보장을 위한 전방위적 인프라 개선 과제들을 건의했다. 주요 건의 사항으로는 장애인 병원 이용 편의성 확보 및 전용 이동수단 확대, 복지 바우처 및 공공 일자리 확충, 시각장애인을 위한 음향 신호등 및 시내버스 안내 음향 서비스 확대, 상수도 혜택을 받지 못하는 외곽 읍·면·동 장애인 시설에 대한 상수도 전격 설치 등 생계와 직결된 현장 밀착형 요구가 대거 포함됐다.
