An official from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) stated, "We hope that our citizens will directly experience the cultural potential of the Republic of Korea and the achievements of our policies through the Blue House Sarangchae special exhibitions, 'Palsekchanran: A Region Full of K' and 'Traces of Light.' Moving forward, we expect the cultural potential and unique values of each region in Korea to continue expanding as the driving force of 'K' around the world." MCST announced that it will hold a special exhibition at the Blue House Sarangchae until the end of the year to prove that the diverse cultural assets accumulated across various regions of Korea have served as the true foundation for today's global market-dominating 'K-Culture,' while showcasing the archetypes of Korean aesthetics. The exhibition will run from June to December on the first floor of Sarangchae, organically combining media art with collection assets from the National Museum of Korea, regional museums, and the Regional Culture Promotion Agency.

The exhibition space is systematically divided into two detailed sessions. The main exhibition hall on the first floor of Sarangchae elaborates on the narratives of representative cultural contents from each national region under the theme 'Regions are Full of K.' By restructuring regional traditional performances, gastronomy, crafts, lifestyle cultures, and core tourism assets with a modern sensibility, it visualizes the message that unique K-contents can be encountered anywhere in Korea. The subsequent media art room features 'The BCE of K,' an exhibition enhanced through the participation of the Korea National University of Arts. It provides an immersive experience that traces the origin of Korean contents by modernly reinterpreting historical symbols such as traditional patterns, Korean traditional hats (Gat), peonies, traditional colors, and tigers using immersive video technology. Additionally, a small-scale indoor performance will be held every Wednesday at 12:10 PM during the exhibition period, designated as 'Culture Day.' Starting with the opening stage by folk singer Ko Yeong-yeol, performances by young and regional art groups, including the excellent Youth Mic group 'Art Cudo' and Nancy Castro, a Mexican practitioner of Gyeonggi folksongs, will continue sequentially.

Meanwhile, this event is being held in conjunction with 'Traces of Light,' a special exhibition commemorating the first anniversary of the launch of the National Sovereign Government organized by the Blue House. Held in the special exhibition hall on the second floor of Sarangchae, 'Traces of Light' highlights major policy achievements over the past year under the theme 'Light of the Square' while opening to the public official diplomatic documents, summit records, and diplomatic gifts that capture the process of communicating with foreign countries. In addition, an experiential exhibition space for digital goods commemorating the first anniversary of the president's inauguration will operate for the month of June next to the first-floor souvenir shop, fulfilling its role as a complex cultural communication window for citizens visiting Sarangchae.

The government's initiative to move beyond metropolitan-centered pop culture and bring local cultures and historical aesthetics from rural regions to the forefront of the global 'K' brand is viewed as a positive directional shift in terms of balanced regional cultural development and content diversification. It is an administratively effective project that decentralizes cultural capabilities focused on the capital and raises the added value of hidden regional assets.

However, for this public-led, large-scale special exhibition not to end up as a mere one-time consumable festival for metropolitan visitors, critics point out that an online-to-offline linked platform must be established so that the displayed regional contents can directly connect with the actual tourism industries and self-sustaining cultural business ecosystems of the respective local governments. Breaking away from conventional administrative display practices that only gain temporary popularity within the limited space of the Blue House Sarangchae, sharing the visitor data obtained during the exhibition period with local governments to induce actual visits to regional festivals or local creator shops is the essential task to realize the ultimate value of this project.
